Come along with Captain, a Blanding’s Turtle, and his friend, Blue Heron, on a wetlands adventure!

A collaboration between the Oregon Cartoon Project’s Katherine Richardson Bruna, Natalie Garcia, our 2024-2025 artist-in-residence, and a team of naturalists, Captain & Blue: A Story of Wetland Wonders tells the story of a species at risk of extinction, an unlikely friendship, and the work humans can do as environmental stewards.

The Captain & Blue science comic is available as a free download to support its widespread use for educational  purposes.
